So much to write about the past year, one thing would be to never give up hope — not the motivational-quote-kind-of-hope but hope in its purest sense:
- Hope for people (the past year continues to teach me that the best thing I can do is to love people from a place of hope, not unbelief. thank the people who also planted hope in your life 🥹)
- Hope for your God-given season (God’s pace does not alter His purpose; trust that everything will unfold beautifully according to the heart of God for your life)
- Hope that God can move & turn things around (in moments when you least expect it, and in moments when you least deserve it)
- Hope that the turnaround is for our good (never resent the redirection & realignment; God works and reveals in accordance to His will, not our ways)
- Hope for slow & significant growth (purposeful progress over momentary validation; a life that counts for people..is most of all, a life that honors God in private)
- Hope in the principle of sowing and reaping (there is no need to calculate the seeds we sow.. give when you feel most unqualified to give, God honors a generous heart)
- Hope in the people God has placed in your life (do not seek people who will validate you all the time, be with people who know you to the core & can speak the truth in love)
- Hope for your calling (what you are called to do will involve crushing, correction, sacrifice, tough leadership decisions, hard conversations & dealings…God’s refinement is preparation, not punishment.)
- Hope in the midst of suffering (you never really grow until you learn to grieve.. find your sweet spot to process pain. I’ve known the Lord deeply in my place of grief than my place of victory)
- Hope that God is doing a new thing; so do not forget what God has done, and do not forget that God is not yet done
and so much more :)
Ultimately I hold on to this: My life, my every moment, my destiny — IT’S ALL IN YOUR HANDS. (Psalm 31:15a)
